National Stadium
The National Stadium will always be fresh in mind for those who witnessed Atto Boldon's success during the 16th Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur two years ago. Images of the huge and well structured building feasted million of eyes worldwide.

Measuring 76,000 sq metres, the National Stadium, dubbed the most prominent building at the Bukit Jalil National Sports Complex, is a bowl shaped complex boasting three spectator tiers.
The venue housed many athletic meets, football matches, opening ceremonies and historical events. Being a multipurpose stadium, it can also accommodate concerts, seminars, exhibitions, Family Day activities, corporate events and also product launches.
You will notice a giant traditional dagger or 'kris' as you make entrance to the stadium ground. Art enthusiasts will find the surrounding panels interesting as they show off traditional art carvings.

The stadium is equipped with the following facilities:-
- 68m x 105m field
- 9 laned 400m synthetic track
- 9m x 400m synthetic track
- 6m x 60m warming up track
In addition, athletes can easily enter the competition field through a tunnel next to the National Sports Institute upon warming up outside.
Every aspect of the edifice is built based on careful planning and quality material. The roof for instance, is made of polyurethane. This gives the stadium a translucent touch besides protecting it from fungus.

At any one time, the stadium can accommodate an amazing 100,000 seated spectators with 200 spaces for the less fortunate. Wheelchair bound audiences have easy access into the stade from designated car parks.
There is something special about the seating arrangement. Waves of the national flag, Jalur Gemilang is created through the combination of colourful seating.

Spectators can make their way into the stadium through the main concourse and move about the facility using the pedestrian plaza encircling it.
Good news awaits media people as they have access to the news offices, broadcast studios and technical equipment room, thus making electronic reporting more productive.
National Stadium's lighting system is also feasible for television coverage. The pre-programmed floodlights with metal halide lights provide brightness up to 1,500 flux.

The north and south ends of the stadium is equipped with two coloured video matrix scoreboards, one for information on events and competitors and the other with a high-tech Cathode Ray Tube for fast action video displays.
On a general note, the stadium is equipped with changing rooms, showers, massage point, sauna rooms, security services as well as other related arrangements both for spectators and sports people.
